Question:
I was wondering if you know of anyone who does barrel electropolishing of small parts? Thanks for your time. J.T.
Answer:
Although I would not want to make personal recommendations regarding specific jobshops (and in your case, I do not have a good resource anyway), I would suggest contacting a couple nonprofit organizations that support the metal finishing community. The National Metal Finishing Resource Center (NMFRC) maintains a public area to their web site where you can search by plating or surface finishing specialty. Their web site is www.nmfrc.org. Although I did not see it on their web site, I know that AESF (American Electroplater’s and Surface Finishers Society) maintains a reference that they send out annually that lists shops by state and by type of surface finishing. They can be contacted at www.aesf.org. Good luck in your search.

NASF/AESF Foundation Research Project #122: Electrochemical Approaches to Treatment of PFAS in Plating Wastewater - 10th Quarterly Report
The NASF-AESF Foundation Research Board selected a project addressing the problem of PFAS and related chemicals in plating wastewater streams. This report covers the 10th quarter of work (April-June 2023). Here, we examine the effect of surface fluorination of Ti4O7 anodes on PFAS degradation performance in terms of energy performance as well as formation of chlorate and perchlorate when chloride is present in the solution.
