Valence Surface Technologies is investing in a 10,000-square-foot expansion at its Garden Grove, California, site formerly known as Coastline Metal Finishing that will be used for digital masking technologies and to add phosphoric anodize and bond primer capabilities.

Phosphoric anodize and bond primer processes are used extensively in satellite applications to improve the emissivity characteristics of RF components, and to enhance the bonding and corrosion characteristics of metal-composite interfaces that are common in commercial and military aerospace applications. Valence says the line will be operational in the second quarter of this year, designed to provide a full-service solution for its aerospace, satellite and defense customers in the region.

“We have seen strong demand for high-quality plating and anodizing services for communication components such as satellite waveguides, electronic housings, chassis and wireless antenna systems,” says Juan Cadenas, general manager. “Based on discussions with our key customers, we have invested heavily in our business to support future growth, doubling our silver plating and hard-anodize capacity.”

Valence Surface Technologies has 10 locations, 530,000+ square feet of manufacturing space and more than 2,500 industry approvals to processes more than 16 million parts per year. Valence Garden Grove was founded in 1980 and specializes in anodizing and precious metal plating for the aerospace, satellite, RF microwave and telecommunications industries.
