The Industrial Heating Equipment Association (IHEA) is pleased to announce Dr. Avi Shultz, director of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office (IEDO), will provide the keynote address at its first Industrial Heating Decarbonization Summit to be held Oct. 28-30 at the Conrad Indianapolis.

Dr. Avi Shultz will open our Industrial Heating Decarbonization Summit with a keynote address that will lay the groundwork for embracing ways to start the decarbonization process. The Summit is designed to assist everyone using heat technologies to understand and overcome important concerns and provide potential solutions as manufacturers plan for a sustainable future.

IHEA National Board member Michael Stowe of Advanced Energy states, “IHEA and DOE have had a long and successful history of working together on industrial process heating. In recent years, both IHEA and DOE have also adapted to include the critical topic of decarbonization into the forefront of their missions. I am pleased that we can continue this tradition of cooperation by having the leader of the newly named DOE Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office (IEDO) to be the keynote speaker at our upcoming Industrial Heating Decarbonization Summit. This is both an honor and very timely.”

Dr. Avi Shultz leads IEDO's strategy to accelerate the innovation and adoption of cost-effective technologies that eliminate industrial greenhouse gas emissions. Dr. Shultz also works with DOE leadership and inter-agency partners to position IEDO and the department for the greatest impact across America’s industrial sector.

The two-day program contains a lineup of topics that will inform and guide attendees in their journey to decarbonization, along with a tabletop exhibition where attendees can visit with suppliers to learn more about the products and services that will help them navigate the decarbonization efforts. The IHEA approach to sustainable solutions is a comprehensive mix of currently available technologies as well as developing technologies that will enable companies to reduce carbon footprints now while planning for the future.
