Keco Coatings Granted Second License By Dupont
One of an elite group of only 26 Licensed Industrial Applicators in the U.S., KECO has been applying range of Teflon coatings for more than two decades.
Mike Klinge, president of KECO Coatings, has announced that the company has been granted a second license by DuPont for the application of Teflon industrial coatings.
One of an elite group of only 26 Licensed Industrial Applicators in the U.S., KECO Coatings has been applying an extensive range of Teflon coatings for more than two decades at their headquarters in Indianapolis. Following extensive investment at its new facility in Statesville, NC, KECO is now able to offer a similar service locally to customers in the southeast.
KECO first established a foothold in Statesville, the very heart of the NASCAR region, in 2008, with the acquisition of the former Teknix Powder Coating business. Since then, KECO has committed substantial resources, expanding the facility and growing the business. Investing in excess of $500,000 over the past five years, KECO has installed new equipment for high volume, automated powder coating, Teflon fluoropolymer coatings and the company’s own signature process, Kephos, gradually transitioning its entire portfolio of products and services to the Statesville facility.
“Our customers will quickly see benefits in the opportunity to bundle their powder coating and Teflon coating requirements under one roof,” Klinge explains. “We can give them a competitive advantage with their own products, not only through the quality and consistency of our coatings, but we can help them to save time and reduce costs by providing a one-stop shop.”
The KECO portfolio includes hundreds of different fluoropolymer formulations, designed to offer a wide range of non-stick attributes and which can be specifically tailored to meet customers’ requirements.
“In order to qualify as an LIA with DuPont, we have had to demonstrate a deep understanding of surface requirements, the ability to recommend the right DuPont coatings for each end use application, and to apply it to a world-class standard," Klinge said. "The DuPont Teflon coatings provide assurances for our customers that the product in question is of the highest quality and contains only genuine DuPont fluoropolymers.”
Doug Westerhoff, Sales Manager for DuPont Fluoropolymer Solutions, is delighted to be working with KECO in NC.
“KECO Coatings has been a dedicated DuPont LIA partner for more than 25 years. The addition of the KECO Coatings, Statesville, NC production site as an approved LIA strengthens the strategic and long-term value of the partnership between our two companies,” he said.
