Q: I need some basic information on stress in nickel deposits. Can you recommend some sources? H. C.

A: This is a question that comes up quite often. Yes, there are some good sources of information. Number one on my list is a book: Electrodeposition – The Material Science of Coatings and Substrates by Jack W. Dini. The book is available on www.amazon.com. In my opinion, this book should be in every electroplater’s library. You can also find information by searching www.pfonline.com. A Google search also comes up with a number of good papers.
