There are a few publications on this subject. The first place to look is in the Metal Finishing Guidebook and Directory, Metal Finishing Publications. Two articles can be found in Plating & Surface Finishing: One by F. B. Schultz, 68, September, 1981, 52 – 56; the other a partial rewrite of this article by J. H. Lindsey, Jr., 87, October, 2000, 16 – 18.

An excellent reference book is an out-of-print book, W. E. Belke, Belke Plating Rack Manual, Belke Manufacturing Company, 1947. You may be able to find a copy this book be contacting a good used book dealer.

Last but not least, contact one or more rack manufacturers. You can find vendors in the Products Finishing Directory and Technology Guide under Racks, plating, painting and anodizing.
