Question:

What’s the best way to polish stainless steel screws? M.S.

Answer:

I am not sure that polishing can be done to screws since the process is usually performed on polishing wheels often meant to remove parting lines from castings and marks from machined parts. To deburr, clean and generally brighten the stainless steel screws, a couple of different mass finishing techniques could be used. One option would be barrel finishing. The screws would be loaded with finishing media and a compound/water mixture. The barrel would then be rotated for some time. Vibratory finishing should be equally effective. A vibratory machine would also automatically separate parts with a screen as they exit the machine.
