My question is to find one thickener for nitric + HF acid solution for cleaning the stainless steel.
Q. I read your articles. My question is to find one thickener for nitric + HF acid solution for cleaning the stainless steel. A.B.
A. There are several commercially available thickeners from the large chemical companies that could be used with those, although it would probably make more sense to use an acid mixture already containing the thickener. There is a product that the readers made me aware of a few years ago called Pasa-Gel that contains acids with thickeners. It was offered by an aerospace company, PRC-DeSoto that now appears to be part of PPG Aerospace.
