Work Underway On NASF Research Project
Professor Elizabeth Podlaha-Murphy will lead project with key student researchers Avinash Kola and Shaopeng Sun of Northeastern University
Professor Elizabeth Podlaha-Murphy with her research team, Bob Srinivasan and E. Jennings Taylor from the AESF and Christian Richter from the NASF.
NASF's Training & Research arm, the AESF Foundation, awarded a 3-year research grant for $75,000 to Northeastern University in Boston for a project on Fe, Ni and W alloy substitute for chromium.
Professor Elizabeth Podlaha-Murphy will lead this research project, and attended the NASF SUR/FIN Conference in June with key student researchers: Avinash Kola and Shaopeng Sun of Northeastern University

Calculating Applied Media Force During Vibratory Finishing
What appear to be identically set-up vibratory bowls will finish identical loads of parts in varying time cycles. This paper offers a new technique to better predict what the operator will produce, by measuring the force applied to the parts. It is the efficiency of that force which controls the efficiency and speed of the refinement cycle.
