Caplugs (Buffalo, N.Y.), a division of Protective Industries, Inc., recently completed the acquisition of Polykap srl as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to expand its manufacturing and service options for European customers.

Based in San Marino, Polykap is one of the most well-known and respected names in plastics manufacturing in Europe, supplying more than 9,000 standard caps, plugs and other protective components for industrial manufacturing, heavy equipment, automotive, hydraulic, beverage and consumer product applications. The acquisition provides current Caplugs customers in Italy, Germany, France, Belgium and elsewhere in western Europe with streamlined access to Polykap’s full portfolio, as well as faster delivery and local service and support for orders from the Caplugs product lineup.

Additionally, current Polykap customers can more easily access Caplugs’ comprehensive custom molding capabilities, including more than 40,000 parts in its product catalog.

The operations in San Marino join Caplugs’ existing European facilities in Belgium and the Netherlands, which operate as Caplugs Europe B.V. The Polykap team will remain in place during the transition period to continue providing the company’s renowned excellent service. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We’re thrilled to welcome the Polykap team to the Caplugs family and to grow our service and product options for our European customers,” said David Williams, President and CEO of Caplugs. “Current Polykap customers will continue to work with the same people and receive the same parts and service they do today, and they will also gain access to Caplugs’ extensive catalog of protective products in the coming months, giving them more options than ever before for product protection, masking and finishing.”

“As the hub for southern Europe, we are excited to bring more products and faster delivery options to all of our customers,” added Davide Luppi, General Manager of Polykap. “Caplugs is a leader in product protection, and we look forward to offering new protective solutions and expanded custom manufacturing capabilities to our customers.”
