PPG to Showcase Coil Coatings at Metalcon 2021
At the event, PPG will highlight PPG Duranar, PPG Durastar, PPG Duraform and PPG Coraflon ADS coatings. These lines of coil coatings are designed for industrial, residential and commercial metal building products.
PPG will feature a variety of its coil coatings for industrial, residential and commercial metal building products at Metalcon 2021, Oct. 6-8, 2021 in Tampa, Fla.
At the event, PPG will highlight PPG Duranar, PPG Durastar, PPG Duraform and PPG Coraflon ADS coatings. PPG representatives will provide in-depth information on these products, as well as color and special-effect finishes, in booth 1037.
On Oct. 7 from 1:30-2:30 p.m., Sarah Mueller, PPG coil technical manager, will present “Coil Coatings and Disruptive Surfaces.” The session will cover the aesthetic benefits of coil coatings and the added protection and abrasion resistance they provide to substrates and structures.
According to PPG, Duranar coil coatings deliver proven aesthetics and durability for high-end architectural applications, such as roofs and metal panels. The coatings meet FGIA/AAMA 2605 performance requirements, which PPG says are the most rigorous in the industry.
PPG Durastar coil coatings provide a smooth, finished appearance and a broad range of glosses and solid colors; they offer hardness and scratch- and mar-resistance. PPG says they also enable high-performance building product manufacturers to upgrade from FGIA/AAMA 2603 to 2604-level weathering performance without a premium cost investment.
The PPG Duraform family of coatings supports a wide range of decorative and functional applications — from building products and home appliances to HVAC systems and doors. The coatings are said to offer excellent mechanical properties, hardness, stain resistance and affordability.
PPG’s Coraflon ADS coating – a two-component, air-dry fluoropolymer coating for building and roof restorations, repair and touch up and structural steel projects – helps preserve building longevity. The coating reportedly delivers exceptional color retention and chalk resistance with low volatile organic compound (VOC) content. It can be applied on building panels, architectural accents, curtainwalls, roofs, aluminum windows, structural steel and other surfaces.
