Columbia Chemical will debut into the decorative plating market with the release of two new product lines: NiCOL bright and semi-bright decorative nickel plating processes and TriCOL trivalent chromium plating process.

Columbia says that NiCOL combines superior leveling and brightness with low stress and excellent ductility, and that TriCOL features great plating speed and bright, white color.

“The innovative and customer-focused approach we have brought to zinc plating over the past 40 years is now being carried over into the decorative plating market,” says president Brett Larick.  “Not only did we build the decorative chemistry, we also built the team to go with it.  We have always maintained a strong zinc plating team and now we also have a strong decorative plating team in place.”

Jeffrey Boehmer recently joined Columbia Chemical as Technical Support Manager and is working with Vice President of Technologies Mark Schario, Lab Supervisor Matt Schario, and Research Manager Larry Seger “to exceed market expectations for decorative plating chemistries and service,” according to Larick.

“We look forward to continuing to make history in zinc plating while breaking new ground in the decorative arena,” he says.
