Hot-Dip Galvanized Kettles Finished with Nickel
SUR/FIN 2021 exhibitor Hunter Chemical’s NiMax Tablets add nickel to hot-dip galvanizing kettles, which the company says leads to more efficient use of the metal.
Hunter Chemical’s NiMax Tablets add nickel to hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) kettles. According to the company, NiMax is unique because the particle size of the nickel powder contained within the tablet falls within a controlled range, leading to a more efficient use of nickel. Hunter also offers nickel in powder form for the HDG industry, as well as other nickel, carbon and chromium-based materials for other surface finishing processes.

Nanostructure of the Anodic and Nanomaterials Nanoparticles in Polyelectrolyte Multilayer-by-Layer (LbL) Films
Microstructure and elemental characterizations have indicated that the finish of a coating with a Layer-by-Layer (LbL) film results in a closely multilayered coating with a smoother surface. In this paper, the principles of assembly are discussed together with the properties of nanoparticles and LbL polymeric assembly essential in building hybrid coatings.

Hexavalent-Chromium-Free Aluminum Sacrificial Paint Validation
Hexavalent chromium is a known carcinogen, repro-toxin and mutagen. Its elimination is of high importance to the aerospace industry, which has struggled to find high performing alternatives. Legacy aluminum sacrificial paints have traditionally utilized hexavalent chromium to prevent corrosion and coatings which are equal to or better than have been difficult. This second of two papers discusses the hexavalent-chromium-free process from the user point-of-view in terms of the process validation work by Rolls Royce Corporation.
