CCAI Names Top Scholarship Award
The Chemical Coaters Association International has named its top scholarship after the late Jim Gallagher.
Each year, the Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI) awards scholarships to college students who are currently enrolled in programs that could lead to a career in the finishing industry. Winners are selected by the CCAI Finishing Education Foundation’s board of directors, and this year, the top scholarship recipient will be awarded the newly created “Jim Gallagher Scholarship,” in honor of a long-time CCAI member who passed away in November of 2021. “Jim had a distinct passion for CCAI’s educational programs,” notes CCAI National President Duane Fudge.
Gallagher served the CCAI on the national board of directors and the Wisconsin chapter board of directors for many years. Gallagher participated on the Education Committee and co-authored and edited countless CCAI technical manuals. CCAI says he was well-known for his generosity and kindness both professionally and personally, making the scholarship the most fitting sentiment for students pursuing a career in the finishing industry.
CCAI is a technical and professional organization that provides information and training on surface coating technologies. CCAI works to raise the standards of finishing operations through educational meetings and seminars, training manuals, educational videos and outreach programs with schools, colleges and universities.
