Gema USA Inc., a Graco Inc. company, congratulates Cameron Greeson as the winner of the 2023 PCI/Gema Scholarship. Greeson is studying mechanical engineering at Purdue University. Greeson has contributed to the powder coating industry though his two summer internships at Schafer Powder Coating Inc., located in Whitestown, Indiana. The PCI/Gema Scholarship recognizes and rewards aspiring students who display a strong work ethic and are interested in leveraging their intelligence and curiosity to move the industry forward.
“Cameron undertook a comprehensive review of our powder application equipment, delving into the mechanical, electrical and pneumatic functions of the equipment, including the intricacies of the software,” says Mark Schafer, president of Schafer Powder Coating. “The culmination of his work was the recalibration of all application equipment along with a very worthwhile reliability/repeatability study.”
Gema says it is proud to be a part of the PCI Scholarship Program. The Powder Coating Institute (PCI) partners with corporate donors, including Gema, to provide scholarships to students who are studying a variety of subjects and interested in careers benefiting the powder coating industry. The criteria for the awards include specific studies and projects relevant to powder coating technology, transcript/GPA, future goals, unique qualifications and a letter of recommendation from their adviser. More information about the program is on the PCI website.
