The Stockmeier Group, comprising companies that offer distribution, production and services relating to chemicals, welcomes a new member, Vesta Chemicals B.V., located in Zwolle, Netherlands. Stockmeier has taken over the majority of the company’s shares, with retroactive effect as of Jan. 1, 2024.

Vesta Chemicals is a distributor for fine chemicals and intermediates and specialty chemicals established 1988. It supplies polymerization initiators, organic peroxides and a vast number of organic catalysts and special intermediates to customers producing powder coatings, alkyd resins, polyurethane, epoxy resins, plastics and elastomers, construction chemicals and fragrances in more than 26 European countries and North America. With its own Reach registrations, high-standard European ADR warehouses and diversified global supplier base, Vesta is able to satisfy the needs of its European clients.

The Vesta portfolio is complementary to Innochem N.V. in Meerhout, Belgium, Stockmeier’s center of excellence for fine chemicals and intermediates, as well to Stockmeier’s business units for specialty chemicals across Europe. Jan Smeets (managing director of Innochem) and Dirk Seidel (managing director of Stockmeier Chemie), together with Erik-Jan van Dijk and Harry Kleinsmit (Vesta managing directors) will jointly lead and manage the company and roll out the synergies into the organization.

“We are pleased to acquire the majority in Vesta Chemicals, as further expansion of [our] Specialty Chemicals [units] in Europe,” says Smeets. “With the acquisition, the Stockmeier Group now serves the market of polymers and resins with a complete range, starting from polymerization initiators up to inhibitors. Our aim is to grow our market share with the expertise of Innochem and Vesta is these specific segments.”
