Surface treatment specialist SurTec and Okuno Chemical Industries Co. Ltd. have announced the two companies will expand their cooperation to serve surface finishers in Europe. The companies have a history of cooperating successfully in Japan. By expanding the cooperation, applicators in Europe will also benefit from state-of-the-art developments, high-performance products and in-depth know-how from one of Asia’s market and technology leaders. Within the field of chemical specialities for surface treatment, Okuno has a reputation as an innovative partner, especially for plastic coaters and for the electronics industry.

SurTec and Okuno say customers will benefit from SurTec’s extensive network of locations in Europe, and the collaboration will provide new possibilities and a broader portfolio of high-performance products for customers in Europe.  For example, Okuno’s innovative chromium(VI)-free solutions for pre-treatment in decorative processes will soon be available through SurTec.

“Okuno's innovative products complement SurTec's portfolio perfectly,” says Dr Karsten Grünke, CEO SurTec International GmbH. “Through the cooperation, we can now deliver a chromium(VI)-free decorative process from pre-treatment to trivalent chromium plating to the final top coat, enabling our customers to fully comply with ECHA regulations.”
