Zinco International Partners With Valmont Coatings
Valmont Coatings will measure the corrosion of galvanizing kettles using specialist ultrasonic technology, the Zinc Immersion Probe (ZIP), developed by Zinco International.
Zinco International (Hereford, United Kingdom) provides advanced technical services to the hot dip galvanizing industry worldwide. The company has entered into a 10-year partnership arrangement to supply and license equipment to Valmont Coatings, Australia’s largest hot dip galvanizing company with operations also in New Zealand.
Valmont Coatings will use specialist ultrasonic technology developed by Zinco International to measure the corrosion of galvanizing kettles using its Zinc Immersion Probe (ZIP). According to Zinco International, the benefit of the ZIP system is that there is no loss of production, and it provides the galvanizer with accurate data to enable for future use of the equipment.
Commenting on the new partnership, Aaron King, vice president of the Asia-Pacific region, Valmont Coatings, says, “Zinco International have extensive strength and knowledge in this area and are a leading contractor in corrosion profiling of zinc kettles. Having our own equipment in-country will allow our own personnel to carry out regular safety checks to maximize use of equipment and limit downtime.”
Zinco International’s main markets are the U.K., Europe, Turkey and the Middle East, where it offers service to galvanizers on a contracting basis. The equipment is transported to the customer’s site and Zinco’s technicians travel to undertake the corrosion profiling service.
David Watkins, CEO of Zinco International, comments, “We are delighted to enter into a new long-term relationship with Valmont Coatings Australia.” He adds, “the equipment is now in Australia and training of Valmont’s personnel began in January 2022.”
