BYK-Gardner USA, worldwide partner of the automotive, paint and plastics industries for quality control of color, appearance and physical properties, has announced a new protective coating field test kit.
The kit provides a complete solution for evaluating the environmental conditions prior to painting as well as measuring the dry film thickness of the coating after application in accordance with SSPC PA-2. This convenient field test kit includes:
- Dry film thickness gauge — SSPC specific mode for standardized measurement protocols and calibration routines
- Thermo-anemometer — Measures air temperature, air velocity, and relative humidity; Can be used outdoors to calculate dew point to help determine the right painting conditions.
- Moisture meter — Verifies moisture content and readiness for coating application; Use to determine correct drying/curing of raw materials.
- IR thermometer — Non-contact temperature measurement for indoor and outdoor surface applications; Laser-targeting feature precisely shows the location of the temperature measurement.
This convenient field kit includes everything you need for a proper evaluation of environmental conditions prior to coating application as well as film thickness after.
