Drag Finishers Extend Life of Carbide, HSS Cutting Tools
Bel Air Finishing Supply’s drag finishers are designed to hone the edges and polish the flutes of carbide and high speed steel (HSS) cutting tools for extended life and performance.
Bel Air Finishing Supply’s drag finishers are designed to prepare and polish carbide and high speed steel (HSS) cutting tools for extended life and performance. Although these materials are hard, they are still susceptible to breakage, the company says, and honing the edges and polishing the flutes has been shown to make cutting tools significantly less brittle and improve cutting performance.
The robotic AutoHone reverse-drag/stream finisher requires virtually no operator involvement, featuring a six-axis robotic arm that enables total control over part articulation. The fully automated system is also modular and customizable, with an optional ultrasonic cleaner and blow-dry station.
