Exair Air System Dries, Cools and Clean Small Diameters
Standard air wipe offers lower cost option of applications that don't require stainless steel.
Exair’s 3/8” Standard Air Wipe produces a 360-degree airstream that can blow off, dry, clean or cool the material passing through it. The split design can be clamped around continuously moving material, such as wire, cable, pipe, hose and extruded shapes.
The standard version is a lower cost option for applications that don’t require the added durability of stainless steel screws, shims and hose; and is available in aluminum with coated screws and PVC hose. A small amount of compressed air is ejected through a thin-slotted nozzle that pulls in high volumes of surrounding room air. The airflow uniformly ejects 360 degrees from its inner diameter. Coupling brackets that hold each half of the device together can be latched together or removed quickly, according to the company.
Additional shims can be installed if more blow-off force is required. It is said the air velocity can be varied with a pressure regulator and instant on/off control provides precision blow off. Air consumption is 11.1 scfm at 80 psig and the sound level is low at only 82 dBA.
