Thick-Film Passivate Protects Both Zinc and Zinc-Nickel
Atotech’s EcoTri One is a fluoride-free, iridescent, thick-film passivate that provides improved corrosion protection for both zinc and zinc-nickel, requiring only one passivate tank in the plating line for parts plated with both elements.
Atotech’s EcoTri One is a fluoride-free, iridescent, thick-film passivate that provides improved corrosion protection for both zinc and zinc-nickel, requiring only one passivate tank in the plating line for parts plated with both elements and therefore reducing time, space, maintenance and handling costs.
The all-in-one passivate has been shown to provide 168 hrs. white corrosion protection on zinc and 300 hrs. on zinc-nickel. With a lifetime of more than 385 ft2/l without new make-up, the passivate helps reduce both internal costs and external environmental impact, the company says. A range of color options are available, from iridescent to bluish. By adjusting production parameters, a stainless steel look can be achieved without applying a sealer or topcoat. Color stability can be maintained even after hydrogen de-embrittlement baking.Related Content
