VCS Hybrid Cup System Helps Increase Productivity
The system combines the benefits of vented hard cups and sealed liners.
PPG’s SEM Products business is expanding its offerings with the Versatile Cup System (VCS), designed for the automotive refinish market. The VCS hybrid system — which includes multifunctional cups, liners and lids — combines the benefits of vented hard cups and sealed liner systems, helping to increase body shop productivity.
“Until now, collision centers were forced to weigh the benefits of the two systems and choose one over the other,” says Meghan Barrera, PPG business director, allied products, automotive refinish. “The VCS system offers ultimate versatility — most notably with vented liners — allowing technicians to open or close the vent as needed. Vented spray delivers optimal fluid flow, while sealing the drip-resistant vent allows technicians and painters to spray hard-to-reach areas from any angle, even upside down.”
PPG says the VCS system reduces the amount of cleaning solvent needed, boosts fluid flow for consistent color matching and minimizes the need to mix in one cup and transfer to another for spraying. The result is fewer steps, reduced repair time and increased productivity.
