Walmec North America Offers AMD-035 Membrane Dryer

The AMD-035 Membrane Dryer, available from Walmec North America (Mazeppa, Minn.), has four-stage prefiltration. It has a flow rating of 35 scfm and maximum working pressures of 150 PSI. The first and second stage filters are designed to remove moisture, liquids, dust, rust, scale and other contaminants to 5 microns. An automatic float drain under the second stage filter opens and expels collected liquids whenever an ounce or more is present. According to Walmec, it is fully automatic with no continuous air loss. The third and fourth stages remove remaining particles down to .01 microns as and absorb remaining moisture or oil vapors.

The Membrane Dryer lowers the humidity level by venting it into the surrounding atmosphere. It comes with a flexible input hose assembly designed to prevent vibration in piped compressed air systems and allow for installation in a variety of positions.

The four-stage prefiltration includes differential pressure gauges and comes with mounting brackets.  The differential pressure gauges are said to provide a visual indication of required maintenance, which is done by installing the appropriate service kits. Walmec states that this does not require removing the unit from the compressed air system.

According to Walmec, the AMD-035 Membrane Dryer is suitable for waterborne paints and other sensitive tasks that require clean, dry compressed air. It is designed to be easy to install, use and maintain.
