Zincate for Aluminum Alloys Extends EN Bath Life
Atotech’s Alumseal 611 zincate process is designed to produce very thin zinc coatings that reduce the amount of zinc contamination in the electroless nickel bath and eliminate the need for an EN strike bath.
Atotech’s Alumseal 611 zincate process is designed to produce very thin zinc coatings that reduce the amount of zinc contamination in the electroless nickel bath and eliminate the need for an EN strike bath. According to the company, the process extends EN bath life to greater than 6 MTO, and reduces the zinc film coating weight on aluminum alloys by 30-60 percent over other zincate processes.
When used in combination with the Nichem MP 1188 EN process, bath life can be extended to 8 MTO without an EN strike bath, the company says. Additionally, the low zinc buildup and high tolerance to contamination improves bath efficiency through higher average plating speed.
