Coventya Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary
Lon Thrasher becomes President as Eric Weyls becomes Chief Operating Officer.
Coventya Inc. is celebrating 10 years of supplying specialty chemicals to the U.S. surface finishing industry and the company's new president said the future couldn’t look brighter.
“It’s very rewarding to see our vision of a world class supplier come to reality in such a relatively short time," said Lon Thrasher, Coventya USA President. “Our success is directly linked to the efforts of our dedicated employees and an extremely loyal customer base.”
Since 2004, Coventya has invested significant resources to support the growing US business. The total number of employees has more than doubled, several new labs have been built and a scanning electron microscope was purchased to satisfy our customer’s material science needs.
“Although Coventya has roots that date back to the 1920’s in Europe, we’re relatively new,” said Greg Terrell, U.S. National Sales Manager. “Also, we’re an ideal size for a supplier … small enough to understand our customer’s needs but big enough to do something about it.”
Coventya Inc. operates from two U.S. facilities. Manufacturing and general metal finishing R&D is in Cleveland, Ohio and a Technology Center for functional coatings is located in Oriskany, New York. Coventya is a multinational specialty chemical company with facilities in 14 countries and a presence in 50 more.
One of the strong points about the Coventya group is its ability to recognize the need for change, especially when it relates to growing our business on a global level.
Effective October 1, Erik Weyls will take on the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO), with a strong focus and involvement in Asia and corporate business development.
In parallel, Thrasher will assume the position of President of Coventya, Inc.
