Each year Products Finishing magazine partners with thousands of finishing operations in the U.S. to celebrate National Surface Finishing Day (NSFD) on the first Wednesday in March. NSFD is designed to celebrate and showcase the industry to trade schools, businesses, officials and media, as well as to celebrate employees and staff.
Facilities are encouraged to host events and work with local media to build awareness about the contributions made by the surface finishing industry.

The National Association for Surface Finishing (NASF) and The Electrocoat Association have joined with Products Finishing magazine to support National Surface Finishing Day and are promoting this annual event to their members.
“NASF is delighted to join this day of celebration of the industry,” says Steve Brown, president of NASF. “Our members represent the best-in-class of the metal finishing industry and we’re pleased to have the opportunity this year to share our wide-ranging contributions to society – in the millions of products we rely on that are essential to modern life.”
The goal of NSFD is to draw greater attention to today’s manufacturing environment and the outstanding opportunities that a career in manufacturing can provide.
“We believe that bringing community members inside finishing operations to see first-hand the safe, high-tech and innovative work environments that await those who pursue careers in surface finishing will only make the industry stronger,” says Karen McGlothlin, executive director of The Electrocoat Association.
