Parker Trutec recently completed an internal building expansion that was required for the addition of a third solid lubricant paint line to its coatings application facility in Urbana, Ohio. This new line complements two existing solid lubricant paint lines, and is expected to launch mass production in May.

The line, which features racks rated to 25 pound and a processing paint window of 12 inches wide by 30 inches high, is a fully automated chain-on-edge system that will allow an increase in production capacity for both existing and new customers, says Geoff Smith, the plant’s general manager. “It will also allow us to achieve tighter industry quality standards for steel, galvanneal and aluminum substrates,” he says.

Parker Trutec works with a variety of paint suppliers domestically and internationally, including its parent company, Nihon Parkerizing, with its proprietary line of Defric paints. Smith says the company also can prepare customer parts for the painting operation through various shot-blast capabilities and with three automated phosphate lines that provide zinc, manganese and iron pretreatment.

Parker Trutec Urbana started operations in 1988 and is a full-service surface coating operation. It is a subsidiary of Japan’s Nihon Parkerizing, which was founded more than 85 years ago has 87 facilities in 16 countries. Visit www.parkertrutec.com.
