Pioneer Metal Finishing Employees Give Back to Communities

Pioneer Metal Finishing employees donated more $12,000 to local charities and more than 7,200 pounds of food that were distributed to food pantries in their communities.

Pioneer Metal Finishing employees donated more $12,000 to local charities and more than 7,200 pounds of food that were distributed to food pantries in their communities.Based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Pioneer also has locations in Michigan, Minnesota, Oregon, Indiana and Mexico.

Pioneer raised more than $6,000 for a charity in the Monroe, Michigan area that serves abused and neglected children in the region. Pioneer presented a check to Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Monroe County after the group was chosen as nonprofit agency of the year by the company. CASA of Monroe County is a group that advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children throughout court proceedings by way of 20 court-appointed community volunteers.

Other donations include $1,016 to the St. John’s Homeless Shelter by the company’s home office in Green Bay, and itsother Green Bay plant donated $3,030 to the Bay Area Humane Society. Pioneer’s Warren, Michigan plant raised $862 to donate to Wigs For Kids as its local charity and also raised $885 to donate to All About Animals Rescue.

Christine Pongratz, wellness and employee engagement coordinator for Pioneer, says each year the divisions vote on a local charity to donate to and support for the year.

“We are committed to building a positive, safe and healthy work environment for our employees and giving back to our local communities with cash and other in-kind donations,” Pongratz says. Since 2014, the company has raised over $56,000 and 45,000 pounds of food.
