Pneu-Mech Adds Partnership with Aabo-Ideal for Wider Services
Aabo-Ideal was formed in early 2018 when Aabo Finishing Equipment in Denmark merged with Ideal-line, also in Denmark. Both companies manufacture surface treatment equipment for industrial companies.
Integrator Pneu-Mech Systems has formed a strategic partnership with European-based Aabo-Ideal that will give each company a global presence for its current and potential customers.
Pneu-Mech President Jim Andrews says the partnership allows his 75-employee, North Carolina-based company to utilize the unique modular technology that Aabo-Ideal has come to be known for in building liquid and powder coating lines.
“It’s a very good synergy of two companies that bring the best of what they do together,” Andrews says. Jerry Trostle, vice president of Pneu-Mech, says they will tap into segments that Aabo-Ideal is servicing, including the electrocoat market.
“It really makes us a one-stop-shop, with a new and wider range of services, reduced footprints and competitive installation times,” Trostle says.

Ideal CEO Gunnar Lassen says he and Aabo CEO Claus Anderson were searching for another global partner to work with when they started talking with Pneu-Mech some time ago.
“We were very attracted to what Pneu-Mech has to offer, and we think this will work great for all of our customers,” Lassen says.
Andrews and Trostle purchased Pneu-Mech a year ago with an eye on expanding the brand worldwide.
“We knew we had to have ownership to do what we knew was best for the company,” says Andrews, who has been Pneu-Mech’s president since 2011. Visit pneu-mech.com.
