NASF Offers Online Industrial, Precious Metals Plating Course
NASF and its educational branch AESF are offering an online educational course for plating on industrial and precious metals.
The Industrial & Precious Metals Plating course will now be held virtually in November and December. The course, offered by NASF and its educational branch AESF, is beneficial for operators and supervisors of job shops and captive shops performing a broad range of surface finishes on a variety of substrates. The course is also valuable to sales personnel serving the metal finishing industry, as it provides a level of knowledge about the processes that will enable a better understanding of customers needs.
Lessons covered in the course include:
- Preparing metals for plating
- Reel-to-reel plating
- Industrial nickel plating
- Gold plating
- Decorative gold plating
- Silver plating
- Palladium, palladium-nickel, platinum and rhodium plating
- Tin plating
- Alternatives to electroplating
The NASF/AESF Foundation says its courses are taught by qualified instructors who aim to support the educational goals of those attending. Attendees will receive electronic course materials in advance in order to be guided through the course. The instructors are available to answer questions as attendees follow along on their computers. Participants can request presentation recordings within 30 days of the original training date. Once the course is complete, there is an optional course exam at a location with a proctor.
AESF also provides custom courses. Custom courses enable attendees to mix and match over 150 courses or work with an AESF qualified instructor to create a customized cirriculum to meet the company’s educational objectives. Custom courses are delivered over two to four days either in-person or virtually — whichever the attendee prefers.
