Ronatec Acquires Metalx
Ronatec plans to expand the MetalX brand while providing the excellent customer support that MetalX is known for.
Ronatec C2C Inc. (Oceanside, Calif.) has announced the acquisition of Metalx Specialty Products Inc. (Lenoir, N.C.). The two companies have had a business relationship for more than 25 years and it was decided to move forward and unite.
Ronatec C2C , a privately owned company, has been in business since 1978 and is an industrial chemical manufacturer and distribution company. Ronatec is primarily involved in the Metal finishing industry as well as all the related process equipment within those industries. Ronatec specialized products are used in the Plating, Aerospace, Automotive, Electronic, Defense, Hardware, Medical, Naval, Plumbing and Energy Industries. Ronatec and MetalX hold MRO/BAC approvals and product deviations on various electroless nickel and metalic stripping products.
Metalx Specialty Products was founded by Barry and Gail Coffey in 1980 in the town of Lenoir, N.C. Barry Coffey invented a number of environmentally safe non-toxic metal stripping products that have been a staple in the metal finishing industry across the U.S. for 40 years. These strippers make up the B-9 ,B-929 and Cufix-E family of plating strippers used from coast to coast. Marty Waters has been the CEO and President of Metalx Specialty Products for the past 14 years and will be working on all aspects of the transition. Marty has been a stalwart supporter of the Metal Finishing industry since his involvement and is widely recognized for his volunteer work and intelligent business strategies.
“Metalx Specialty with Marty’s leadership, is an excellent fit for the Ronatec brand name,” says Shawn Wetherald, CEO and President of Ronatec C2C. “Together our two companies make a strong partnership to grow both our brands through the synergy of increased marketing, product knowledge and an effective sales and existing distribution system.”
James Wetherald, Vice President of Ronatec C2C, adds, “I am looking forward to bringing the distribution network of these two companies into focus to build increased market penetration throughout the U.S. and elsewhere in the World. Ronatec will be expanding its blending and warehouse locations to support the MetalX brand. We plan on adding a number of products to the MetalX product line.”
Joe Zabielski, Technical Director of Ronatec notes that, “This acquisition made sense because both companies share similar business values and principles that will lead to continued growth and customer support. The aerospace approvals of MetalX products are extremely interesting to the current MRO market.”
Marty Waters, previous owner of MetalX, says, “The Ronatec C2C acquisition of Metalx Specialty Products, Inc. is a significant milestone for our proud history. We are all looking forward to this exciting new chapter.”
