Dürr System Enables Fully Automated Painting of Cars in Two Colors
EcoPaintJet provides product customization and is suitable for electric car production.
Dürr’s EcoPaintJet system is an automated application designed for efficient, two-tone painting of cars. According to the company, it enables precise application of sharp paint lines, which eliminates the need for masking car bodies when applying a contrasting or accent color. The applicator is fixed to a robot arm that is said to move over the target area and apply paint with razor-sharp lines. Cycle time for applying a contrasting color to a car body roof is estimated at 120 seconds.
