pH-Neutral Activator Removes Rust, Oxide Films
SurTec 414 cleans ferrous metals and aluminum as effectively as mineral acids.
SurTec 414 is a pH-neutral activator formulated to clean ferrous metals and aluminum as effectively as mineral acids, but with several advantages. The cleaner can be used in ultrasonic immersion and spray applications to remove rust and oxide films, and it is said to be especially suitable for treatment after thermal deburring.
According to the company, the non-hazardous, surfactant-free formulation requires a shorter process sequence due to the elimination of a neutralizing step, no flash rust or sludge formation, minimum risk of hydrogen embrittlement, and easy handling and higher workplace safety.
