Powder Coating Forms and Surfaces
A peek at an automated powder coating line utilized by outdoor and architectural furniture and fixtures fabricator Forms + Surfaces (Pittsburgh, Pa.).
Forms + Surfaces specializes in fabricating and finishing outdoor and architectural furniture and fixtures. Their customers include a variety of municipalities and park districts, as well as retail and hospitality companies. With facilities around the world, they work from concept to completion to create high-end, visually beautiful furniture and fixtures for the most discerning brands and companies.
The Pittsburgh location installed this $2 million powder coating line in 2019, automating from a previous batch system. Manual contour spraying ensures even coating on complex parts. The line typically runs at six meters a minute, and products are then cured at 400°F for 30 minutes after powder is applied.
