Protech Group Acquires Dyvex Industries
Dyvex Industries is a plastic compound manufacturer for fragrance, flavor and odor control products. The Protech Group will seek to leverage Dyvex Industries’ market within the coatings industry, including thermoset powder, thermoplastics, liquid and specialty materials.
The Protech Group (Liberty, Ind.) has acquired the specialty materials business Dyvex Industries (Carbondale, Penn). The acquisition was completed on Thursday December 30th, 2021.
The Protech Group will seek to expand Dyvex Industries’ market access within its existing sales and distribution channels and leverage its current and prospective customers within the coatings industry, including thermoset powder, thermoplastics, liquid and specialty materials.
Dyvex Industries is a plastic compound manufacturer for fragrance, flavor and odor control products. The company sells its products globally and says it is known for the Polyessence and IonicGuard brands. Polyessence is a proprietary scent delivery technology that offers custom solid fragrances and flavor concentrates in a dry-to-the-touch plastic pellet form. IonicGuard reportedly uses active odor neutralization with proprietary ingredients that ionically and covalently bond to malodor molecules.
David Ades, president of the Protech Group, says, “The acquisition of Dyvex Industries will enable the Protech Group to provide further add value to our customers by enhancing our range of specialty material offerings and expanding our research and development capabilities.”
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Protech Group has acquired a total of four businesses, including the thermoset powder coatings business ACG Industries (Gondecourt, France) and Lynx Thermoset Coating Ltd. (Calgary, Alberta, Canada), as well as the liquid paints business Excalibur Paints & Coatings Ltd. (Wichita Falls, Texas) and Winslow Browning Inc. (Liberty, Ind.).
