Automated Powder Coating Line Powered by AI
CoatingAI claims this technology will be the world’s first closed-loop control solution for automated powder coating processes.
Coatmaster AG (Winterthur, Switzerland) and CoatingAI AG (Winterthur, Switzerland) have announced a cooperation which leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to drive greater quality, efficiency and profitability for customers in the automated powder coating line industry.
According to CoatingAI, this will be the world’s first closed-loop control solution for automated powder coating processes, and it will reportedly draw on data from Coatmaster thickness measuring devices which feature the latest optical sensor technology. Together, these technologies will automatically and intuitively control powder coating lines towards process stability. This is expected to result in reduced coating material consumption and better homogeneity, as well as lower personnel resource requirements.
Marlon Boldrini, CEO of CoatingAI AG, says, “The combination of Coatmaster’s advanced thermal optics technology sensors and CoatingAI’s smart algorithm-driven advanced computer vision and machine learning technologies harnesses two powerful digital age tools to deliver real benefits for people — and the planet.”
Nils Reinke, co-founder & co-CEO of Coatmaster AG, adds, “We look forward to helping customers in the automated coating line sector confront produce quality results and overcome the shortage of skilled labor, and both of those while ensuring continued profitability.”
