The byko-test 9500 line of dry film thickness gages from BYK-Gardner USA are replacing the byko-test 8500 series. The two versions of the gages represent BYK-Gardner’s line of dry-film thickness gages for measurements on ferrous and nonferrous substrates. Both models come with a detachable probe and a cable for different modes of operation. They have functions to store, archive and document measured values and to change device settings on a PC using the software and preconfigure, for example, pass/fail limits.
The byko-test 9500 line of dry film thickness gages was designed to fit customer needs. It is well suited for measurements on both ferrous and non-ferrous substrates, precise measurements on curvatures and small parts, adjustable for rough or smooth substrates and has a modular design to accommodate a range of applications. Both models feature a 2.4" color display, resistant to scratches and chemicals. The flip display has adjustable brightness that is automatic or manual. It also features multiple languages, with USB connectivity and PC software. The line provides the ability to create documentation and reports quickly and simply, the company says.
Both instruments have a fiberglass-reinforced plastic housing, which is dust-tight and protected against water spray in accordance with IP65. The instruments come with an ISO 17025 certificate.
The premium model has the option to create up to 100 jobs with 100 areas each and offers functions to comply with established ISO and SSPC methods. Its total memory can contain 2,000,000 readings while the basic model’s memory can contain 10,000 readings. The premium model has a continuous measurement function and combined measurement function with ferrous and nonferrous coating in one measurement. It also enables adjustment for ISO 19840 and SSPC Zero Offset and 2-Point accuracy verification.
