Paul N. Gardner Gradient Oven Performs Thermal Tests, Simulations
The CureView gradient ovens can be used to evaluate thermal stability, flow behavior, chemical resistance and sample preparation for further testing.
The CureView gradient oven from Paul N. Gardner is designed to perform thermal tests and simulations on samples for the evaluation of thermal stability, flow behavior, chemical resistance and sample preparation for further testing.
The oven allows users to heat up test panels on a glass bed to a variety of temperature profiles from ambient 41°F (+5°C) to 662°F (350°C). Elevated temperatures are instantly generated by 32 spectral filtered infrared halogen heaters. The heaters can be controlled individually and allow the setting of virturally any form of temperature gradient, varying from a parabolic-shaped gradient to an ascending or descending slope to a number of temperature blocks.
Gradient profiles can be imported, measured by the CurveX oven logger system, in order to simulate the production process on a laboratory scale.

Corrosion Resistance Testing for Powder Coating
Salt spray can be useful to help compare different pretreatment methods and coatings but it does not tell us much about the corrosion resistance of a part over time in the field. Powder coating expert Rodger Talbert offers insights into how to get a better idea of how to improve a part’s corrosion resistance in the real world.
