Anoplex Software will showcase tablet-based JobPro and ChemTrak options for job tracking, job data collection, and chemical process control, designed to replace routers, add-sheets, makeup sheets, temperature logs, and other paper records. The applications enable chemical additions, inventory, receiving inspection, router-step sign off, and more to be recorded from anywhere in the shop with a Wi-Fi signal, with instant visibility to front-office personnel. Critical data can then be stored in a database instead of in file cabinets, and will then be available to show conformance to quality certifications and for analysis of yield, deliveries and production efficiency.

An AESF Foundation summer research grant provided an excellent opportunity for a PhD student to learn how to use chemical engineering fundamentals to scientifically characterize an electroplating process through integrated dynamic modeling and simulation, and how to develop digital twin (DT)-based virtual plant that can be of any process configuration.  This is a critical step for the investigation of new technology development for smart and sustainable manufacturing in the surface finishing industry.
