Weiler Abrasives Donates to Veteran Education Program
Workshops for Warriors trains and certifies veterans, wounded warriors and transitioning service members in CNC, welding, CAD and other technical trades. Weiler Abrasives, a longtime supporter of the nonprofit, recently donated $25,000.
Weiler Abrasives (Cresco, Penn.) a leading provider of abrasives, power brushes and maintenance products for surface conditioning, announced its continued support of the mission of Workshops for Warriors (San Diego, Calif.) with a donation of $25,000. The nonprofit school trains and certifies veterans, wounded warriors and transitioning service members in CNC, welding, CAD and other technical trades, as well as helps to place them in advanced manufacturing careers.
Since 2008, Workshops for Warriors has focused on rebuilding America’s advanced manufacturing talent workforce and supporting transitioning service members and veterans to enter manufacturing careers. This year, the nonprofit will celebrate its 1,000th graduate, and it reportedly has graduates working in every state in the U.S.
In addition to providing financial support, Weiler Abrasives has supplied donations of abrasive and safety products to Workshops for Warriors since 2014.
“Weiler Abrasives has long believed in the importance of the Workshops for Warriors mission,” says Nate Schmid, director of global marketing, Weiler Abrasives Group. “We are pleased to be able to provide support to help veterans gain valuable skills, establish themselves in the technical trades and earn a consistent livelihood.”
