Cell Tests Chemistries for Shelf Roughness
The Jiggle Cell from JPS Technologies is a 1,000-mL cell that allows companies to test plating chemistries to help determine shelf roughness, and low- and high-current-density areas.
The Jiggle Cell from JPS Technologies is a 1,000-mL cell that allows companies to test plating chemistries to help determine shelf roughness, and low- and high-current-density areas. The system can simulate cathode rod motion and air agitation, as well as the contour of parts.
The tank measures 11.5" × 5" × 12" and holds approximately 1 L of solution. The system also includes an AC gear motor that operates at 25 rpm open and 115 V; an AC power cord with inline rocker switch; a plastic compression tube fitting for air; and a flat stock tip that is plastisol-coated and trimmed.Related Content

Smart Modeling and Simulation of Electroplating Systems for Real-Time Monitoring of Chemical, Water and Energy Consumption (NASF Summer Research Grant)
An AESF Foundation summer research grant provided an excellent opportunity for a PhD student to learn how to use chemical engineering fundamentals to scientifically characterize an electroplating process through integrated dynamic modeling and simulation, and how to develop digital twin (DT)-based virtual plant that can be of any process configuration. This is a critical step for the investigation of new technology development for smart and sustainable manufacturing in the surface finishing industry.
